They managed to release an app without the material you themed icon in 2023. thats basically basically one line to add in an xml file.
They can train ai models but cant do that
Also they are like 0 features more than the webpage. They may add payment through google at some point but right now I dont see the point in using the app.
I’m disappointed we don’t have the cool haptic feedback while it types out a response. That was the only interesting part about the iOS app.
It also doesn’t seem to support Code Interpreter, which I have access to.

Is this haptic feedback that good in a real live? I usually disable vibrations for tying and co.
I think it’s really neat even though I often turn down or disable haptic feedback elsewhere. It’s hard to explain but with the iOS ChatGPT app it feels more lively. With that said, I’m not sure how much of that has to do with the vibration motor in my work iPhone XR.
Most Android phones have such trashy vibration motors so I think its for the best. They may be good in high end phones but those aren’t the majority.
My S23 Ultra isn’t bad :(.

It should be illegal to put anything but the Wi-Fi button as the first option in the panel.
I’ve been using gpt assist from fdroid and occasionally the bing chat to really just mess about with AI thing.
Wondering if the official app has any advantages over those. I mean I don’t really do much but ask it for crossover plots between different shows. Poems, rewriting songs or asking dumb questions.
How does gpt assist work? Do you give it your API key or the Devs sponsor all users?
Anyways, the official app exclude a man in the middle.
As far as I know it’s just a wrapper for the actual gpt site so you just sign into open AI there.
So, you type in your username/password (hopefully unique for ChatGPT site) to an app developed by some random guys? Then, the official app is, at least, a significant security boost from my point of view
That’s one point of view but I trust open source over closed everytime and the source is available.

Yeah, login redirection isn’t working in Firefox nightly.
Works fine in the stable Firefox. Niglthy is … nightly - some things can be broken.
