I love seeing the NBA, after a while of running away from their cultural ties to hip hop, embrace it more fully over the last few years. I wouldn’t say there’s no NBA without hip hop but unquestionably hip hop has woven itself through the culture of this league for a long time and that’s something that should be acknowledged.

It’s always been interesting how much rappers love MJ when he wasn’t into hip hop at all and was way more of an R&B guy. Jordan would listen to singers like Anita Baker and Kenny Latimore before games lol

“There is no NBA without hip hop?” Talk about revisionist history to fit a narrative.

They played this segment, and then they have the chainsmokers as the pregame entertainment. Literally put any hip-hop act on & I would be excited. And this would make more sense.
