Hi guys! I hope my question is okay to ask in this sub.
I would like to buy my first „luxury“ watch in a few months and was looking at a specific Omega watch - but the price increase was just a bit too much for me. I could afford it but don’t want to spend that much.
I found another watch „Longines Primaluna“ for around 1500€. It‘s a battery watch and I know it’s not as good as an Omega or an automatic watch.
An older friend of mine (60+, old fashioned) is a watchmaker and absolutely ripped me to shreds for thinking about buying it. Wouldn’t be worth it and no resale value.
Am not someone who wants to resell something and I know I will never get as much back as I paid for with that watch but I still thought it was a somewhat decent watch.
Do you guys think it’s an absolute waste of money or okay to buy if I like it? :) Wouldn‘t want to buy something that is really as bad as he said.
Ultimately it is your money, if you like it you should do it…as simple as that. If you are interested try to learn about the quartz movement used in the model.
If this design is what you are looking for, check out Cartier Pasha: Similar look, original Genta design. This one seems like a bad homage of Pasha…
Price difference is not that high if you are ok with used watch. No-one really wants Pasha at the moment. Real deals can be found. (Missed an automatic a bit over 2000 at auction quite recently…)
