No, this is the standard HIFIMAN build quality thing
This sub has taught me to never buy hifiman
You’re missing out honestly. Unless you abuse your headphones they last fine.
I have a broken set of mdr v6’s, broken set of x2’s and he400i that is in mint condition all these years later.
The Headphones themselves are amazing, they just fall apart every now and then.
See if I’m paying for any kind of premium product I don’t want to have to think about anything like that
The whole headband construction costs hifiman at most 10 bucks. It’s ridiculous that they still sell this piece of crap in 2023 on $300+ headphones.
SHAME on you Low-Quality-Hifiman.
Wow very generous of you to think that a headband like this costs $10 in china…
The whole headband construction costs hifiman at most 10 bucks
It’s not just hifiman, you could say this to most brands.
hd600 costs probs 10 bucks to make now and it’s 400+ headphones 25 years later.
It’s HiFiMan. Priced high with terrible build quality and parts. Just the internet hype thinks they’re a reputable brand but that’s none of my business.
This sub used to shit on Hifiman pretty relentlessly several years ago, but the astroturfing worked really well
They deserve the hype because they indeed sound very good for the price. They spent all the money on sound.
I’ve used my Arya’s for 4 years and have had no problems.
Yup
Phenomenal value drivers, garbage everything else. Welcome to Hifiman
I am a fan of Hifiman, give me the hate.
The reason I’ll not get a hifiman. I know they sound good, I tried some at my local audio store but their build quality scares me
This is just HIFIMAN build quality.
Did I luck out or something? My Sundara are flawless.
Just got deva pros, they are utilitarian but seems solid. Sound great so I’m happy
Yes. I love my Sundara, I can’t ever imagine getting rid of them. My headband is fine, and the cushions are still like new after 2 years.
But looking at OP’s photo, it definitely makes me feel lucky.
almost 4 years and no issues with my sundaras
My sundaras are flawless too.
The thing is that people who got their perfect hifiman don’t talk anything about them and are quite as f, making it sound like most hifiman are faulty. In reality I think the faulty hifiman units are around 10%. (which is still a lot I know)
Another predictable Hifiman Hate Fest 🙄
The sad part is, that it is fully justified.
My Arya Stealth’s are rock-solid tho…
Never buy hifiman new, i learned it the hard way with my first xs. Always buy second hand if you can demo them or they offer a personal warranty. I have a grand total of 6 hifimans at one point and the he400se’s are built like TANKS (i got a pair so beat up for 20 usd and it had 0 issues). It seems most of the hifiman problems appear in the first week or two. If your unit survives that your fine
Has hifi man gone down in quality? Asking because I have a pair of 1st gen HE-400s (the blue ones) that I got second hand and they seem to be a really solid build quality and excellent sound. All metal construction, nice headband. No complaints. What happened?
Do you hang it by the headband?
Didn’t someone say a little bit ago that the city their HQ or something is located in flooded recently? Did that affect product? Are they just out there toweling things off, hoping people don’t notice disintegrating materials?
Or are they just close to water or something? Bad shipping practices? My HE-4XX from four years ago arrived with rusted screws around the drivers - how does that even happen? I can get replacement screws, so it’s not a huge deal, but… well, I never got around to it, and I’ve made so many modifications/damaged these enough, I should just upgrade at this point. Still, what’s up? Is stuff just aging extra-quickly over there? Do they exist in some sort of time vortex that ages everything too fast?
You must have missed all the Hifiman memes
