Mcmahon shouldn’t even be asking anyone in the org questions. Dude is trash
What was wrong about what he said here though?
Honestly it wasn’t bad.
The Mavs org - and many Mavs fans - just have zero patience for him at this point. Nobody is going to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I think it is all overblown, but most media crap is overblown IMO.
Kidd went into that interview expecting fuckery and was prepared to go off
the worst person you know just made a good point
Why aren’t you guys more positive about the season we missed the play in???
I mean you don’t have to act like a failed season was a success unless you’re the bucks ig, but I feel like the approach is often wrong. You could spin anything to be positive even while making critique, and I feel like due to the pursuit of clicks its not often done.
“The Mavs roster is garbage” can easily be “looking forward to seeing what acquisitions they make before the deadline”
I think regarding sports, we are so past doing interviews now. They aren’t interesting anymore and just look irritating to do. Back in the day interviews used to be kind of cool, but they’re so lame now.
Kidd took that way out of line, macmahon literally said they were doing better and just asked what Kidd was seeing to confirm the success. The whiny “you guys don’t write anything positive” wasn’t even a comeback to the question, which was a positively tilted one
That’s because his response is only partially about the question. Kidd and numerous people in the Mavs org have actively disliked McMahon for a long time and the limit of their patience for him has probably been reached.
Yeah he’s such a terrible person for asking interview questions that aren’t softballs
Strange how people hate on someone just trying to do his job and also make things more interesting for fans
The only reason we are even talking about this is because McMahon made it interesting. Otherwise nobody wild have paid attention or given a shit
It’s a good question that allowed Kidd the opportunity to be generous… and instead he picked a fight. Weird.
It has nothing to do with the question per say, it’s a culmination of a long history of dislike towards McMahon from not just Kidd but a lot of people in the Mavs org, and that limit of patience has basically reached breaking point.
ESPN making something out of nothing involving their own reporter is weird
ESPN
making something out of nothing involving their own reporteris weirdIt makes sense for them to post this tbf. Most people share this clip without the part where MacMahon is asking the question. Leading everyone to believe that his questions was as douchy as you might expect from him. The question is okay, probably more about the narratives he tried and tries to push in general. Safe to assume Kidd is not a fan.
Well this was lame. I thought one of them would actually be inflammatory here. I guess if you’re really sensitive to swearing it’s something but as far as Kidd press quotes go this isn’t all that entertaining.
Seems Tim asked a fine question. Kidd answered with his normal semi-abrasive press conference demeanor. Then Tim tried to bait a bigger reaction but just got more light swearing out of Kidd.
I’m sure MacMahon will spin this into something bigger but right now this felt pretty tame.
This is like five tiers below where he said “idk I just stand there or smthg who gives a fuck?”
Tim McMahon is insufferable. Glad Kidd pushed back at him a bit.
It sounded like McMahon was giving him a compliment? Kidd asked why the media doesn’t make a big deal out of their clutch playing this year now that it’s good. The reporter is LITERALLY making a deal out of their clutch play now that it’s good
McMahon seems to be the Dallas version of Joe Cowley. Just looking for controversy at every turn.
