I personally imagine each sub like a clan from redwall.
You’ve got tankie communist mice that’ll throw hands, anarchists racoons who will turn a broken strainer into a satellite dish and use that to install Debian on Voyager just to remove the proprietary software from it, you’ve got the horny toads posting in 196, there’s a fabulous group of trans eagles flying high living their best life. A strong contingent of German hedgehogs only come out at night and the early morning, but boy do they come out in force. All sorts of political critters, and the occasional lost koala bear who can barely think and hopes to find some food here.
I met Brian Jacques when I was a kid. Was absolutely obsessed with the Redwall series, I’ve still got a signed map of the Redwall surrounds somewhere. I’d dig it up and post it but it’s got my full name on it…
6yr old me was uncontrollably stoked. He was a sweet old man. Dearly missed.

We had a ton of the books but I don’t really remember them very well. My brother was a vociferous reader of them
You should give them a go. They’re definitely aimed at kids, but the writing is good. Revive those childhood memories!
I’m getting back into reading to clear my head before bed, so I might check these out again.
Murray finished The Hobbit, which was wonderful abd a perfect before bed book.
I’m reading them to my kids.
One of them started reading ahead and I am so excited for him.
I’m excited for him too! Feels good that such a precious part of my childhood is still firing up kid’s imagination.
🥲
can confirm, love eucalyptus.
can confirm, as a 196 enjoyer
That was beautiful!
I think you’d really like the board game Root.
