Games@sh.itjust.works•Microsoft admits Game Pass price hike drove away "millions" of subscribersEnglish
2·11 hours agoIt’s competitive out there for hardcore gamers and Microsoft is losing. The ones who are buying on a massive scale are their demographic (obviously).
I personally kept gamepass through the price hikes because it’s the only thing I pay for gaming wise. They don’t make much off of me. I pay the monthly fee, play the free games, and occasionally buy a game that’s like 80% off. I will buy games on day 1 but they are usually huge releases like GTA6 or Fable… Games that come out once a generation or longer.
We’ve all been there. Talked ourselves out of boobies and gotta try and salvage the situation.

5·1 day agoI totally get that! When I visited the most was when they had the dollar menu and I honestly used it to survive back then. These days it’s the app and only sometimes but same thing.
You couldn’t beat $3.75 for 2 sandwiches and a small fry when I had $20 to my name that had to somehow last me the work week!

77·1 day agoI’m doing my part helping put McDonald’s out of business. They aren’t cheap anymore and somehow the quality has gotten worse. I went from going once a week many years back to once a month then a few times a year to never. Every time I go I’m disappointed.
I have read this comment therefore I also can confirm that everything stated is 100% facts.

Meanwhile their MAGA “Messiah” literally is associated with a pedo trafficker that has ties to people that literally control the world with solid evidence… Make it make fucking sense!

2·5 days agoOh yeah I totally get it! The only reason I’m in the “know” is because I work in IT. I used to love computers growing up but uh… Now that I do it for a career, I don’t have much interest in computers as a hobby. I used to lie at work in entry level positions saying stupid shit like “computers are my life!” Because I thought that’s what I needed to do to “fit in”. But, these days I’m just honest. When I get off work I don’t fire up my gaming pc (don’t even have one), I fire up my grill!
Glad you like it here! I’m pretty new myself. My only issue is there’s not much traffic sometimes but what makes it so “real” is how empty it feels sometimes. You know people read your comments instead of getting buried in thousands of bot comments.

2·5 days agoYeah agreed. But if you’re in a 3rd world country or some broke teenager that money goes farther. Bot farms buy “legit” accounts then influencers pay them for likes and interactions on social media platforms fooling The algorithm into thinking the content is popular then putting the bought content into real human’s social media feeds. I have watched YT videos on how the stuff operates in the past. It just goes to prove that the internet is fake af. Going viral can be bought. Algorithms can be manipulated. It’s all bullshit.
Lemmy seems pretty legit so far though! I’m pretty new here but it seems like a small corner of the internet that’s not yet taken over by 90% bots!
…yet…

4·5 days agoI checked my first one (that was banned later) once out of curiosity. 8ish years over 100k karma and it was like $20? You’d have to really grind to make any money like having a bot farm or something. Granted I never actually checked my account specifically, just similar accounts with similar age and karma.
This was years ago that I looked. I wouldn’t be surprised if the number has gone down since then.
Nah, they read it. Just want to cut in line because they feel more important that everyone else. It’s pretty obvious when somebody pulls that shit on purpose. Then others you can tell they are oblivious. I usually let them in either way because I try to not get annoyed by the little things in life but sometimes it’s hard to not get annoyed…

News@lemmy.world•Colorado elections clerk Tina Peters released from prison after sentence commuted
1·8 days agoYeah I think the concept is people with that much money always want more. Either they are people that made their millions and want to make more said millions or they inherited that money and they are trying to bring more in for their family. Either way, character is the most important thing. Take AOC for instance. She’s got a net worth of something like $80k. Takes no kickbacks, doesn’t own stock, only accepts donations from people instead of super PACs. Her financial practices SHOULD be the norm as a public servant! Unfortunately that’s not the case

I just got a car that shuts off when stopped. I hate it. Especially when you stop at a stop sign for a second too long and it shuts off then you hit the gas and it hesitates because it has to literally start the engine before moving.
