Courtney (she/her/they)

Hello lovelies, I am a (trans)Woman who is still in the process of discovering herself!

I have been working up the courage to be who I am for so long, I am excited to be figuring things out.

Pre-HRT, pre-fashion-sense, and pre-confidence.

Any and all tips and advice from more experienced women are welcome!

  • Would be different if you were trans

    Fucking preach

I had people point blank tell me they’d “never hire a tr***y” when I came in for an interview.

My current job, the overall manager told me “politics has no place here” when I wore my “Be yourself they’ll adjust” trans flag shirt to my on boarding after boymoding the interview, but then got really cagey about what she meant/why she mentioned that when one of the other management team standing next to me asked what she meant. A couple other employees misgender me here and there but for the most part they’re very apologetic about it. Only one has been obvious about doing it intentionally.

Customers on the other hand… Fuck red states…

  • I never understood the incredulity from everyone.

Starfleet pushed for this PR stunt, knowing the Enterprise wasn’t actually ready for a real shakedown cruise. This was supposed to be a proverbial sail around the harbor. They weren’t even going that far in the solar system.

But you know how space is, enterprise has to be the closest/only ship in the sector. Despite Earth being the base of operations for the federation and definitely one of dozens of ships that should be loitering around the sector at any given time, let alone the ships in space dock that are fully operational and while maybe a little light on crew due to being in space dock can be ready in 5 minutes with a sizeable chunk of experienced crew…

Captain Cam gets an undeserved bad reputation from being handed a chainsaw and asked to perform surgery on a grape.

  • Spoken like someone who has absolutely no idea what it’s like to try and organize people scattered across a fucking continent.

Specifically a continent with very poor access to public services that would make organization easier.

A continent where even speaking out can cost your your job and therefore Healthcare.

A continent where your neighbor might be someone who agrees with you, or they might blow your head off because they thought you might vote for a lefty.

A continent where the government has already threatened to murder any citizen they want just for fighting back against their authoritarian boot. A continent where your closest regional capital might be hours away.

My state is larger than most European countries. The logistics of organizing real action on this scale is insane. And a lot of very rich people have spent a lot of money for a very long time to make sure it’s as hard to do anything about their tyrannical bullshit as possible.

The best most of us can do is vote, try and organize like-minded people locally, and survive the next week.
