Was trying to be objective about it. Water is inherently neutral in flavor. Anything that is less than neutral wouldn’t be worth drinking. Now what that is will be different for each person.

This doesn’t help. It’s victim blaming. The marching is the effort. People only have access to what they see and what they hear. If there are no marches, then what most people only see and hear is a curated narrative by the billionaires. The marches show others they aren’t alone. If you truly want a progressive uprising, stop being a dick, and encourage those who are trying to win back our country from fascists.

This attitude is a cancer to progressive reform. Vote for the candidate with the better policies and you will have progressive reform in this country. “Electability” is literally the only argument liberals have at this point for picking centrists over left flank candidates. If that argument actually had validity: the left flank candidate wouldn’t have won the primary; and the “electable” candidates would have previously won. Is there one centrist dem a majority of people even like?

The liberals are trying to make an example out of Piker… To intimidate influencers, who typically rely on ads and support from the establishment to survive, from attacking the status quo. Piker doesn’t do ads, relying on his subscriber base to fund his career. So they can’t control his messaging with money, and are trying to do it by making him radioactive to the candidates he would support. The ultimate goal is to take away support provided by Piker for grassroots campaigns, so those candidates will have to toe the DNC line, or risk losing support from the establishment.

So regardless how you feel about Piker personally, or his views, it is clear he is trying to elevate progressive candidates so they don’t have to compromise themselves for liberal support. We should all be supporting those efforts if we truly want to amplify a progressive political wave.

The steam is already being used to create the electricity… Leave that shit to engineers.

As someone who lived in the 80s, it isn’t debatable. A gay person outside of highly liberal cities, had to hide being gay or they were at a severe disadvantage. That is now true in much fewer locations.

I’m in my late 40’s. 2 years ago, i had the same knee jerk attitude. Since then I’ve been scanning the current political climate, started watching MSM with a more critical eye, and have tried to consume opinions from independent media across the left wing spectrum (i.e pod save america vs. Hasan Piker). Gaza and Iran have changed things. As far as i can tell, a majority of democrats are on gaza’s side, hate the Iranian conflict and have become disillusioned with Israel. Yet, the party leaders, and their talking heads, appear to be to the right of the constituents on these issues. MSM treats the majority left wing opinions as radical, obviously pushing centrist/corporate/aipac talking points. This has devalued MSM opinion generally. Now, when Jake Tapper implies a brown politician that calls gaza a genocide is antisemitic, more and more people are just devaluing the MSM opinions generally. Look at national media talking points regarding the cureent wave of left flank candidates. Unelectable, unreasonable, unrealistic, antisemitic, etc… a majority of the left ain’t listening anymore.

Stop treating politics like it’s still 2008…it ain’t. Vote for the best policy, not for the one CNN tells you is better.

The problem with this strategy is you can still be prosecuted for statutory rape even if you relied on a fake ID.

That attitude is why trump won in 2016 and 2024. Abdul and Zohran are what happens when people stop listening to the electability propaganda of the Centrists. That electability argument is the primary reason we are left with ineffective libs shoving money in their pockets. Ignoring Trump, would you rather have Bernie or Hillary at the head of your political party?

You are allowed to be happy my dude. Vote for the candidate that supports what you want, not the candidate that you think everyone else is going to vote for. You and everyone else subject to the corpofacist propaganda machine only thinks the second candidate is more electable because of the corporate propaganda. Vote for your own best interests And the better policies will follow.

This fact is now recognized by a majority of democratic voters, for the first time in my life.
