It is like the prisoner dilemma. If you think you’ll do the right thing enough people will cheat that you are then obligated to cheat also to keep up.

Students are using it to replace learning, schools are creeping into using AI to replace instructors.

Mass confusion and scamming when you can’t tell the difference between reality and lies anymore. We’ll have to disconnect and return to our own physical senses eventually.

Yet those in power keep trying to gaslight us that we actually like and need it.

I had a VCR that I had to toss, many years ago, because some crappy little plastic gear had lost teeth. Replacing it would’ve cost almost as much as a new VCR. I could see someone with a 3D printer could build one without a lot of effort now.

I wonder what happens when the bots are just hitting other bots. Bots leaving comments on bot sites, etc.

I got my current job by doing contract work so I was already in the chair when they hired me full time.

They’d have to solve the riddle of envelopes and stamps.

“It will create more jobs.” is the equivalent of trickle down economics.

The problem is 99% of hiring is looking for specific keywords and phrases like “increased revenue”. Since they always do that applicants fall into the same patterns, like an evolutionary arms race.

“We’ve decided to hire chatgpt since that is who wrote all of the applications.”

Almost better off posting the address where you are hiring and see who comes in person to apply. That would be a bigger hurdle for serious applicants.

Maybe they can catch up to the 1890s.
