Linux@lemmy.ml•AI disclosure is no longer required for the Linux Kernel
1811·1 day agoDoes not matter how he uses AI. It is a fundamentally unethical technology. Environmental damage, job losses, stealing work from open source programmers and artists, poisoning the young generations mind etc.
I don’t give a fuck how Linus uses AI. Linux was here before LLMs were a thing and it can continue to be like this. Linus chose the easy way and disregarded every single negative aspect of it and decided to call it 'just a tool". The exact same excuse every single cuckcoder uses btw.

3716·2 days agoCan we as the tech community stop dick riding Linus and accept that he sold out to big tech?
A speaker also can be used as a microphone btw lol.

Ask Electronics@discuss.tchncs.de•How can I implement video processing on my FPGAEnglish
1·4 days agoWe talked to our supposed advisor today and he told us we should add more image processing or deep learning shit because our current project is an EEE project and not a Computer Engineering project. He also said he might give us an F if we present this.
I’m speechless. I wish I have studied this field 10 years ago man…
Idgf though I’m doing this.

Ask Electronics@discuss.tchncs.de•How can I implement video processing on my FPGAEnglish
7·5 days agoI would but ever since the AI boom every single professor at my unis computer engineering department has gone full slop. They only work on AI projects and use LLMs frequently. I feel like I’m on my own with this lol.
I might try the EEE department though.

Ask Electronics@discuss.tchncs.de•How can I implement video processing on my FPGAEnglish
4·5 days agoLol yeah it’s a tight deadline. I made CPUs before but they were small projects for my custom ISA (which has like 10 instructions) and they didn’t have a bus interconnect.
This is a huge step up but could be a learning experience. I will definetly post it once it’s done (hopefully).

I would need a MIPI camera board I’m guessing?

Linux@lemmy.ml•GNOME OS Preview, Epic supports Linux, Linux kernel set to go all in on AI - Linux Weekly News
38·5 days agoLinux is definitely going to that direction but is not yet there. I have no idea why Linus is supporting this god awful tool so much. I guess promoting a programmer as an indisputable true opinion source was wrong. He became a bootlicker for big tech at the end. Such a shame.

He is bootlicking hard recently. I used to look up to the guy as the guy I want to be. Nowadays I despise him.

1912·6 days agoThe amount of bootlicking Linus has been doing recently is insane. I expected this bs from anyone but him. Such a sad reality we are living in.

I don’t like LibreOffice but any actual Open Source dev deserves infinite more respect than those prompstitutes.

The only two FPGAs I can buy that has a reasonable price and has the specs I want are both Xilinx FPGAs (Arty S7-50, Arty A7-100T).
I kinda have to use Vivado. Even though I hate bloated software like Vivado I think it would help me in the industry to know them.
