Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What's the most unusual way you've made some extra money?
3·2 months ago$600 for just a BJ sounds like a lot of money.
I thought the cassette was a proprietary shape that wouldn’t allow you to put any other ones in.
This is what sold my friends on meta. I kept boasting about my shits and my ghost wipes (toilet paper was clean on the first wipe).

I was going to day that’s the same dock and keyboard I’ve been using this week.
I wish Alan Turing was still alive and using Grindr. It would probably motivate him to update his test just to wade through the 80% of bot profiles on the app!
FYI you can use a DNS ad blocker to get rid of all the ads in Grindr (and all other apps).
But it is a scummy app.

Technology@lemmy.world•Android’s most beloved launcher may be done for goodEnglish
2·5 months agoThis literally the only feature I care about. How has no other launcher done that?
I tried total launcher. Even bought a license. It didn’t have the app icon swipe. For example if I swipe up on the phone app icon it launches the contacts app. Swipe up on the messages app icon to launch Signal. Great way to easily access a bunch of related apps without cluttering the home screen.
A launcher that allows for icon swipe up/down actions??

1·6 months agowill not work after October because Google will brick it.
[Google’s announcement notes that the older thermostats won’t become bricks pasted to your wall even after support comes to an end. When software updates and Google cloud service access ends on October 25, 2025, those of you with a 1st or 2nd generation Nest won’t be able to control the Thermostat via the Google Home app or Assistant.
Essentially, your older Nest thermostat will become a dumb thermostat with a nice screen to control temperature and scheduling.](https://www.tomsguide.com/home/smart-home/google-announces-end-of-support-for-1st-and-2nd-gen-nest-thermostats-what-you-need-to-know)

Microsoft was the only launcher I found that has the feature to swipe up on an app icon to launch a shortcut. Nova had swipe up or down that I used to launch different apps.
