Eskating cyclist, gamer and enjoyer of anime. Probably an artist. Also I code sometimes, pretty much just to mod titanfall 2 tho.
Introverted, yet I enjoy discussion to a fault.

Technology@lemmy.world•Stop Killing Games delivers 'absolutely incredible' hearing in European Parliament: 'There was no [parliament member] that wasn't responding positively'English
41·6 days agoundue burden on small developers
Uuh, more often than not, the small devs already make their games indefinitely playable and preservable, just out of a love for the medium.
No actual artist wants their work to have an expiry date.
Legal enforcement is only needed for the passionless big publishers that shutter games just to funnel players into purchasing their latest releases.
It’s mentioned in the parliament presentation. Only a small minority of game publishers engage in this BS, but it’s ALL the big ones, meaning the problem is experienced by the vast majority of consumers.

Mythos does the latter, not the former.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How far would you swallow your morals for money?
3·8 days agoYes.
And that’s not what I do. Participating in evil is evil. I remind people of that. It’s so normal that it’s easy to forget.
If a person isn’t evil, they should want to stop as soon as possible. The ones that care can easily forget to endeavor to do so. Me included.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How far would you swallow your morals for money?
3·8 days agoThat line is always said in direct response to something they do.
If you focus on the action, you allow a lot of people to take comfort in the illusion that they are a good person, despite their actions.
That’s not how it works. If you do evil, then you are part of the problem. That only changes once you stop.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How far would you swallow your morals for money?
131·8 days agoI’ve literally said “people like you are the reason the world sucks” to peoples faces.
It’s unlikely to change anyone, but someone has to tell them. Otherwise, the ones that try to lie to themselves about what they’re doing, might succeed.
2014
You mean 2004, right?
Right?

Games@lemmy.world•Shuhei Yoshida Says Jim Ryan Fired Him From PlayStation Studios "Because I Didn’t Listen to Him"English
10·9 days agoHow is Marvel Snap indie?
It’s clear he has a love for games that not enough decision makers do, but is he using the term to refer to games and publishers that are simply “small”?
The article even includes the term “indie publisher” which is an oxymoron.
Ignorance is not an opinion.
Inform yourself. Until you do, what you have is not an opinion, it’s just cluelessness.
Like claiming the sky is green, because you haven’t properly looked.
Until the guards spot you and put you in there with them.

Linux@lemmy.ml•I made a custom icon theme that combines the best parts of my favourites
4·19 days agoAh, no. I’m not familiar with how to do that.
But I wouldn’t think so? I’m more familiar with KDE, but with it at least I’ve always found ways to edit some files somewhere to accomplish what I want.
So far.
For this I’ve just been creating folders and setting their icons manually.

Linux@lemmy.ml•I made a custom icon theme that combines the best parts of my favourites
6·19 days agoYou mean the icons?
At least in KDE dolphin, you can edit any folder and set the icon as whatever you like. It’ll follow the theme color too, if you use the right icon.

He acts like he’s surfing the wave. He looks like he’s exactly as deep in the hole as he actually is.
ChatGPT is the next Theranos.
He hasn’t just scammed consumers. He’s scammed investors. And that’s the one crime that actually lands people like him in prison.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•Distro for upgrading a 15 year old Mac?
3·22 days agoI usually go with Kubuntu.
Set up flatpak, share internet from my phone via usb to install broadcom wifi drivers, and modify the KDE desktop to work more like MacOS (add top bar with search widget and alt menu, turn bottom taskbar into a dock, move window buttons to top left).
Hand it back to the post-MacOS-user. No complaints so far. In fact one came back with another Mac and asked me to do it again.
The qpwgraph workaround works in the matrix clients as well, but passing media audio into a WebRTC stream meant for voice is not ideal. Any decent client is likely to heavily filter out background audio (which with a game would be a lot of the ambient soundscape), and the audio would in some cases end up mono.
Broadcast-box is on the simpler side, if self hosting. If not, there is a public free-to-use instance here: https://b.siobud.com/
