Pretty well! I’ve got almost 200 subs on !FolkPunkFolks@lemmy.zip, which I feel is quite decent for a community that only started a week ago.

I’d like there to be a balance. The memes are a good way to get more eyes in the community initially, but I’d like to slowly switch over to focus more on music as the community grows. Right now, I’ve got a featured song of the day, we just finished making an introductory folk punk playlist, and we’re getting started on a deep cuts list.

It does do that. I was thinning a little on top before I started and now I’ve got luscious locks!

I was really surprised when I saw that flairs weren’t widely adopted yet. They’re super useful for community filtering.

ATProto is what Bluesky is built on, right? How does it differ from Activity Pub? Are there difficulties with bridging the two protocols?

Gender crises are some of the worst experiences ever. They’re especially difficult when you’re in an environment where you can’t talk to loved ones about it.

How disappointing. Expected, but still. We ban all sorts of other harmful medical or practices, but this gets a pass because the stranglehold religion still has on the US.

Heck yeah! I’ve been trying to actively make the switch too. Getting away from big-tech algorithmically-driven social media platforms feels very nice. I do miss a few of the communities I was a part of that don’t have a counterpart here, but I’ll get used to it eventually.

The community here is much nicer than reddit currently is. It feels more tight-knit. Almost like reddit was twelve or thirteen years ago.
