    You specifically said his form of method acting comes off as cringe on screen. I’m saying you can’t tell a person’s technique by the end result alone. You may know from other sources but not solely by what you see on screen.

      Ah, well I disagree with that too. I don’t care for most billboard method actors, not Joaquin Phoenix, not Jared Leto, not Hillary Swank, not even Daniel Day Lewis. Actors I am not impressed by for the amount of accolades they get are highly correlated with actors who utilize the more intense end of method acting, even before I know anything about them outside the specific role.

      I’ve also seen where I generally like an actor but dislike a specific role when they use method acting and normally don’t e.g. Charlize Theron.

      But it’s a personal opinion, isn’t it? There’s no objectively “good” actor without clear criterion for definition of “good”.

        There are genuinely “bad” actors. But you don’t see them much outside of community collage acting classes. But there accept ions to even that.
