Personal story - Wife: that wooden beam in the Garage looks ugly! Husband: say no more.
Fast forward a week, the wooden support beam is perfectly polished and oiled. Wife thought he was going to paint it! 😂

Eh, live and let live. Maybe they’re the kind of couple who do these things to tease one another, both knowing that there’s no malice or ill will involved. Assuming the worst always makes me miserable.
