Aw, the Prodigy erasure is so real
I didn’t think studios made these kind of fluff pieces anymore, so it hits on the nostalgia factor of early 2000s Entertainment Tonight vibes. The section with tawny newsome and Eugene cordero got a laugh from me. Jackie Cox was delightful. Jerry O’Connell looks like he desperately wants to be anywhere else

I cannot get over how corporate, forced and soulless this was. Especially with Prodigy not even getting a mention. Reminds me of those segments in late night shows where they pay the intern to go out on the street with a camera and talk to people cuz it’s cheaper than using the staff writers.
I just watched it. It was a nice bit of Star Trek-ness. I was shouting out answers to Jackie Cox’ questions to passerbys. And, now I want an outfit like Jackie Cox wore – sequins and Star Trek.
It was fine. A total of maybe 8 minutes of interesting content. I enjoyed the segment with Tawny Newsome and Eugene Cordero watching silly clips. And the interviews on the street were cute.
Jerry O’Connell did have a slight “blink twice if you need help” vibe going on, but I’m not sure how much of that is me projecting it onto him given that the strikes are going on (but I assume this content was prepared in advance?). And honestly, I couldn’t do half as well “hosting” a show with no guests in front of a green screen!
The segment about Discovery was a bit…
And I’m actually a discovery fan! But wow that Paramount Plus narrator was so proud of their achievements, lol
