My dad gave this to me for my 32nd birthday in late August. It’s his old acoustic-electric that he doesn’t play anymore because he has others. I appreciate the gesture a lot. When I was in middle school, I had an electric Ibanez that I didn’t play much because my mom would complain whenever I’d try. After years of struggling, I’ve been stable in my own place.
No one can complain about me practicing or discourage me now. I think my dad is genuinely sorry for the time he said I’m “not a musician” and wouldn’t let me take my old Ibanez from my childhood with me when I traveled to NY for a while. I already have several songs I want to learn in mind after I get all the cords mastered.
It’s never too late to start when it comes to creative endeavors such as music. ❤️ I am incredibly grateful.
