OK so on windows my soundblaster x4 can output both the spdif digital output thing and the analog audio to my headphones at the same time and use the volume knob to adjust the volume of them so one gets louder the other quieter.

on endevour os nothing of the sort exists, apparently this is the way to add a profile for it. however this didn’t work for me. ive also tried adding it to the 9999-custom.config but that didn’t work either. any assistance?

Whats the reason for needing the same audio via spdif and analog, but with knob inverting volume?

Hmm, you might have some luck with Jack Audio. i haven’t tried it myself for this but it has lots of config options to pass audio around

OKAY after some frustration, i think i figured it out. this command saved me

    pactl load-module module-alsa-sink device=hw:2,1

hw:2 being the device id or something when i use pactl list cards

now to figure out how to change the name

Do you require a fixed config file or would a patchbay like Catia or qpwgraph suffice?

In that case just use qpwgraph and wire the outputs to both the stereo and s/pdif outputs.
If either of the outputs is not available then the driver doesn’t support them, which is not uncommon for Creative devices, to put it mildly.
