No, you did not mess up.
I tend to think small watches are unbecoming of a man. But I also think large and overly-adorned watches are unbecoming of an adult. It mostly will depend on how the watch rides your silhouette when you look in the mirror. Everyone will have their opinions.

To be honest, it looks great. Especially paired with a suit, I’d guess.

never. this “rule” nowadays that men’s watches have to be big doesn’t make any sense and is stupid, until the mid-70s men’s watches were smaller and everyone looked good wearing one. beautiful watch you have.
