The debates in Oklahoma City over the wisdom of coughing over arena money while other pressing issues exist is painfully familiar to longtime Seattle residents.
The arena is supposed to cost $900 million and the team is going to contribute $50 million. How helpful of them. Meanwhile the existing one just became old enough to have a beer.
Howard Schultz asked for a $220 million arena in 2006 and was denied. When Clay bought the team a few months later and was denied his $500 million arena (Which would have been the most expensive at the time) he acted all surprised. So much for a “Good faith” effort.

Their ownership is straight-up garbage.

The most expensive arena in the NBA at the busiest traffic intersection in the state of Washington, the I-405 S-curves down in Renton lol.
Absolute joke of a proposal.
It was definitely sabotage. Rep. Ross Hunter (House Finance Committee Chair) even stated about Clay Bennett’s proposal:
“They made no significant effort to pass that bill, nothing”.
