I hated this $75 seiko solar chronograph that I bought second hand after I broke the bracelet. Since then I have lots of more fancier watch and that watch was no longer giving me satisfaction. I was getting frustrated at it trying to fix it and finally lose it and I felt I don’t want it anymore. I threw it away for peace of mind, now I am feeling a bit regret, anyone threw their watch into the bin?
I’ve thrown a Vostok and a Timex in the trash before
Never had non-functioning watches, but had low value watches that I didn’t want the hassle of creating online listing and shipping for. I donated these to thrift stores, so someone out there could make use of them.
No, but I’m struggling with this now. I’m on an extreme decluttering kick, and have unloaded a bunch of unneeded crap. I have now turned my sights on my watch collection. I’m not sure these are even worth selling, but throwing them in garbage just feels… wrong:
Seiko SHC043 - Quartz diver, actually has a sapphire crystal and interesting blue sunburst dial, but needs a new battery so I’d need to pay for that before even trying to sell it.
Orient Symphony - Cheap to begin with, not sure why I even bought it, and I scratched on the crappy mineral crystal early on and haven’t worn it in years.
Dad won an Omega in a competition to write a slogan for Phillips. Watch was the second prize, first prize a house. But they ended up using my dad’s slogan anyway, even though it wasn’t the “winning” entry.
Dad called bullshit on them, but big company, massive legal team, etc etc etc…Dad ended up throwing the Omega at a wall.
Ouch. That hurts all around
