The NBA is doing the thing again where they try to tell players they can’t request trades, try to tell franchises when they can rest players, etc.

It’s all silly stuff that people who actually watch the NBA don’t care about, but if the league is going to go that route, then…

How can the league also allow teams to make trades for players that they have NO intention of ever putting on the court? CP3 and Jrue are a couple recent examples. Russ last season.

If the new rules/guidelines are about things like “integrity,” then what if every team that trades for a player has to fully pay the rest of the season’s salary for the player and have that entire salary count against the cap?

I’d man I do actually give a crap about teams resting stars. Like are you more or less likely to tune in to a bucks Celtics game if day dame and jaylen brown aren’t playing let alone jayson Tatum and Giannis, what about lakers suns and lebron and KD are sitting out? I wanna watch the best players on the planet play against each other and I don’t want to wait for the playoffs to see those matchups

NBA is a business and a brand. They care about $$$. If the fans mind is that these guys don’t care about playing basketball. The money stops coming in.

People who watch the NBA absolutely do care about that stuff. Especially load management. And they have the data to back it up.
