Hi, looking for recs for BRAND AND MODEL to buy a good quality timepiece for the first time. I’m a female in her 30s, works a 9 to 5 client facing job. Additional info is I don’t like leather straps & I have quite a small wrist but always love a conversation starter with the clients so the face size doesn’t matter. Budget is below 600 USD since I work in Asia so currency isn’t so good now. 1 Q is I was browsing Frederique Constant in store the other day. Worth it?
Check out the Casio Oceanus line for women. It should be available in your price range (especially with a little negotiation). Most of them have beautiful dials - many of which are genuine mother of pearl, and they are solar powered (no batteries to regularly change) and if you live in a country which is in range of solar clock radio waves, it will re-sync the time to an atomic clock automatically every night for you, so it’s always perfectly accurate. They also have titanium bands, which are lighter and stronger than steel, and they don’t transfer temperature as well as steel, so the watch is cooler on your wrist in the summer, and warmer in the winter.
Here’s an example - they have dozens of different models, with different faces, sizes, etc.
Tissot has plenty of options with steel bracelet.
