This is without question a top 5 nba highlight for me. The smack talk that was going on this game, the score and how late in the game it was. The ankle breaker on Bev. The way the crowd reacted… WOW

If Harden finds him out of the league prematurely (not next season, obviously) due to contract shenanigans, I will be so pissed. Dude’s prime was electric; he can’t go out like that.
Nah, houston would take him back on the min if anything
I think most teams would take him for the full MLE easy.
He made Embiid MVP, can solo carry playoff games if he gets hot and does well in the regular season.
That’s better than most starters on good teams.
He wants the max though, and the external drama just makes it hard to justify.
I get how you feel. He was an absolute talent in his prime, but what do you suggest teams do at this stage? He’s starting to decline, he’s lost a step; and regardless of how legitimate his reasons are for bailing out on Houston, Brooklyn, and now Philadelphia – the thing is that he did. And that rubs a lot of owners the wrong way.
He may not have wanted to rebuild with the Rockets. Kyrie and KD’s shenanigans and injuries made it hard for 3 of them put together a decent playoff run. Morey is a snake for reneging on whatever alleged handshake he and Harden made, but owners will ultimately want to look out for their own team. Morey is fucking him over, but he can’t just take any half-assed deal that other teams offer, if any more are interested. He’s got to get something in return. Even if he did dig this hole he put PHI in.
Your whole post is on point. I don’t have any answers. I just hope he comes out of this well somehow and ends up on a good team.
Saying he’s going to be out is a bit too early right, didn’t he just help the sixers win 2 games off the Cs last playoffs?
Yeah his contract situation is a problem but the dude loves to play and he’s still effective out there
Idk, he was a very effective player but I certainly wouldn’t call his prime “electric.” He would pull off some stuff like this but it was a ton of foul baiting and isos at the top of the key for the majority of the shot clock. Obviously he mastered it and was insanely efficient, but it was a chore to watch imo.
Fair enough. It was Harden clips that re-ignited my interest in basketball after a few years’ break, so I am very biased towards him. I’m a Laker fan, but still try to watch his games.
