Before the last season, Dejounte Murray requested a trade from the Spurs and got traded to the Hawks to play alongside Trae Young. Both of them have conflicting skill sets and don’t really play well with each other. If he had stayed for the tank for another year, he could’ve played alongside Wembanyama.
Did he make a major mistake?
Him and Trae don’t fit? We’ll see how well that holds up this year with the new coach.
They played an entire season together last season and didn’t have great results
their first season together with a horrid coach for 75% of the season… and still made the playoffs, taking the celtics to 6 games. I think they’ll be good next season. Sort of a sleeper team in the east.
He didn’t request a trade. That was the Spurs being nice to make it look like a mutual decision. Pop knew what he was doing.
If Murray stayed they wouldn’t have gotten that good of a chance to land him in the first place
