I’m especially curious about the players who had high work ethic, no injuries, a good attitude, etc. Those who had everything going for them but the team who drafted them screwed them over by pairing them with lacking players, a poor environment, etc.

Are you asking specifically about draft busts, or any players who were screwed over by the teams that drafted them? They’re two very different questions.

You’re just asking for the Jimmer fanboys to spam about how the guy who was the most marketable player to enter the league in years just was never given a chance. Only Tebow worshippers are more annoying.

Jimmer was always bad. Going to Sac didn’t help, but he was still bad. He had every opportunity to adapt to the NBA but he didn’t do it. His return in Phoenix all but confirmed that

James Wiseman shouldn’t have been picked as high as he was, no matter what team he ended up on, but I also think GSW was a terrible place for him to develop. He came into the league having only played 3 college games, so for all intends and purposes, he was a high school player who was drafted by a team with title aspirations, where he was expected to immediately be the starting center in the most complex offensive scheme in the league.

I’m happy for him that he’s now on a team where he has more room to develop, although it’s a team with three other young big men, so I don’t know how much playing time he’ll get.

He’s fighting for the backup center role with another Top 3 pick/bust from an article a Kings fan sent to me a few welds ago.

While GS was an extremely bad fit for him, good own lack of motivation is the culprit here.

Because he was absolutely a bust at that time. #1 overall pick that was just alright at best, had a bad attitude when he wasn’t immediately successful, and didn’t make anyone around him better

Glad he figured his shit out but Wolves Wiggins was unquestionably a bust

Chauncey Billups - dude was in a bad situation at Boston before getting traded and then got passed around like a spliff for years before landing with the Pistons.

Sorry, read it as “were considered busts” and Billups was considered a bust. Yeah, Billups isn’t a bust. Also not a hall of famer as yet, but definitely not a bust lol

Adam Morrison got drafted into one of the least supportive NBA environments ever, aka Michael Jordans first few years as owner of the Bobcats. New head coach every year, management shakeups, definitely not set up to succeed

Anthony Bennett was awful and would have been awful anywhere. He was lazy, didn’t show up to practice, and had absolutely zero aggression in his game. The dude was already shaping up to be a bust before he played one second of NBA basketball. It took him 5 games to score his first basket or something crazy like that.
