Last week I posted about the unofficial r\nba Win Totals league, where members of the sub can predict the records of each team this upcoming season. You can still sign up - picks lock Tuesday night at tip-off!
Winner gets an NBA League Pass Subscription for the 24-25 season!
Looking at the projections of the members that have signed up and made predictions so far, there are some interesting places of disagreement. Notably, r/nba thinks the big dawgs of the East will rack up a few more wins than their O/U would suggest.
The Top 5 Overrated Teams According to r/nba
- New Orleans Hornets (predicting 3.3 fewer wins than Vegas)
- Charlotte Hornets (predicting 2.6 fewer wins than Vegas)
- Houston Rockets (predicting 2.4 fewer wins than Vegas)
- Dallas Mavericks (predicting 2.1 fewer wins than Vegas)
- Los Angeles Clippers (predicting 2.1 fewer wins than Vegas)
The Top 5 Underrated Teams According to r/nba
- Milwaukee Bucks (predicting 2.6 more wins than Vegas)

As usual, we’ll take stock of all this at the end of the season.
I think John Hollinger put the Pels at .500 the other day and his reasoning was basically that no one has any clue what’s gonna happen with this team.
I don’t think Milwaukee or Boston have the depth or durability to hit this sub’s OU. They’re built for the playoffs
Their top end talent will be too much to overcome for most.
I think there’s a few teams like this but just ours, I don’t think Denver has great depth unless I’m missing some one in their bench
THey are built for the playoffs if everyone is healthy.
This is true about literally every team. All of them that have ever existed.
“New Orleans Hornets”
so last week was before Dame’s preseason debut right?
When I’m in a being mid competition and my opponent is the Atlanta Hawks.
This sub will always have a bias towards large markets in everything because large markets have way more fans here lol
Its so annoying how large markets like Milwaukee, Detroit, Sacramento, and Washington are getting overrated! People keep sleeping on those small markets like LA, Houston, and San Francisco
The Hornets have talent but they are almost all headcases and they will just implode at some point
Yep 2 guys = all headcases
We’re easily the highest variance team right now barring injuries, if things go realistically right we could win 50 games, if things go bad we could win 20.
I guarantee Pelicans finish top 5 in the west
Good luck with that one my man, you’re gonna need it
I think a lot of people are underrating the hornets cause of memes. But the hornets top 9 has talent comparable to a roster like the cavs, the Knicks or the wolves.
The Hornets at 29 wins just show that most people have extreme recency bias, this was a 43 win team 2 years ago and this roster is better than that roster was. Sure if injuries and suspensions come into play like last season it’s a different story.
Hey bro! I was wondering if I will still receive my league pass for first place last year? Thanks bro!
Yes, of course! Just responded to your DM so we can sort it before the first league pass games tomorrow.
