MIKE “LAKERS DADDY” MALONE

he really seems to be an outstanding coach his rotations and timeouts are always on point.

Sure he has the 2 time MVP Joker and All Star Caliber Murray but Malone has to start getting a lot more credit the same way Pop was given his flowers for the spurs dynasty.

We are a long way from there but it definitely seems like Denver has a Spurs like trio with Joker, Jamal and Malone the way San Antonio had Duncan, Ginobili and Pop.

also

how did you feel about the WHOSE YOUR DADDY chants from the fans?? It seemed to be in great fun and most people say they got a kick out of it.

Should the “Whose Your Daddy” nickname for Mike Malone stick??

aka Mike “Lakers Daddy” Malone

Lakers should have lost - hear me out

Jokic v AD - Jokic LBJ v Gordon - LBJ MPJ v Prince - MPJ Pope v AR - Pope Murray v DLO - Murray

Obv LBJ is amazing but when you’re center and your point guard are OWNING their counterparts - they SHOULD win the game. Full stop

I did not get a kick out of the “Who’s Your Daddy” chants. I’ve only ever seen that level of disrespect from GSW fans. Never expected it from Nugs fans.

I recognize this comment will get downvoted to hell but I’m leaving it up for visibility

Agreed. That’s the kind of shit that could come to bite them in the ass in the playoffs. I’m sure it was great for fans in the moment but they just gave the lakers even more bulletin board material. Smh.

It’s dumb for sure, but if that’s what the Lakers need to come at us, then they’re cooked. It’s not like they didn’t hear it in the offseason, then talk shit about it, and then just find they still aren’t at our level.

The first part of your comment is bland, standard Lakers salt, but leaving it up “for visibility” adds a nice douchey flavor to it that’s at least somewhat unique.

He could reach Boogie Cousins, the big guy had his best years under Malone. When Malone got canned Boogie flared up and never got right mentally. That is no small feat!

Malone was the genius in GS. Mark Jackson used to give speeches on the sidelines while Malone was drawing up the X’s and O’s, always thought he was en elite coach.

I think beating your regular season win total is a decent way to judge a coach cause Vegas can generally access the talent on your team well. Since 14’ he’s beaten his win total all but once.

Also imo beating the jazz in the bubble was a huge coaching feat. Jazz basic created a completely new offense that became the #1 in the west the following season and malone figuring it out well enough was commendable

Mike Malone is the new Bud. Was about to get fired, won a chip because he had the best player in the world.
