IIL Music by "Blood Incantation" what books would you recommend? - Lemmy.World

I know that this is an obscure and very niche request, but I thought if there ever was a place to try it would be here. For those that are unaware, Blood Incantation is a prog death metal band that makes music based around the themes like consciousness, the universe, and extraterrestrial life. If someone were to ask me the same question, I would probably recommend Slaughterhouse Five, Semiosis, and American Cosmic. Do you have any I could add to that list?

    Don’t have any book recs, but Absolute Elsewhere is a banger.

    Edit: on second thought, the Forerunner book trilogy based in the Halo universe may be worth checking out. Greg Bear is the author. The story is set wayyyy before the events of the Halo games and details the fall of the forerunners to the flood parasites. Lots of cosmic horror and concepts around creation and destruction, moral dilemmas, and not just infectious pathogens but infectious ideas.

    Shadow of Intent’s album Primordial is a concept album based on these novels.

      Yeah, that comm has less than 200 weekly users, and prog death is a pretty niche genre.
