Referees keep their standards by being the worst asset in NBA by far.

You have top 0.1% athletes competing in a league where they’re being judged by (mostly) selfish, proud and incompetent judges.

Terrible call. Definitely not a flop. Ball don’t lie with the missed free throw.

Chris Paul flipped twice in in their opener and the defender was called for a foul each time. This is gonna be a bullshit star call. Good grief

Some dudes are going to eat an unjust penalty for this new rule to truly impact the game. It should be worth it when flipping is finally reduced.

People who ask for more flop calls means they’re going to get ones like this wrong.

Can’t have it both ways. It’s how it is. Reffing is extremely hard to get right in the moment every time.

Did the NBA really try to hijack STEM to make it seem like there’s some kind of scientific method to a flop?

…I hate that this is the first flop tech I’ve seen. This wasn’t even bad.

The announcers and posts need to not call this “flopping”. Dort is really strong, and he almost ran into the stanchion off contact above the free throw line. That is exaggerated movement.

It is a STEM call. Secondary, Theatrical and Exaggerated Movements to minimal contact.
