The offseason videos of Ben Simmons dunking / sound bites stating he has been working on his jump shooting came to a screeching halt last night when he scored a total of 7 points and was benched in the 4th quarter. In his first four seasons he was an above-average defender and playmaker on offense averaging 16pts per game. In the past two seasons he continues to stand out defensively but his offensive potential has completely withered away as he averaged less than 6 points while physically looking scared to receive the ball on the offensive side of the court.

Remember, Ben Simmons was injured and sat out his rookie year. In hindsight, the hope he would spend that year developing a serviceable jump shot that he would build off of year over year (Giannis Antetokounmpo) was the beginning of a long joke of a career that has frustrated/offended many teammates/fans.
