Can I replace my Honeywell T6 Pro (z-wave only model) with T10 using the same base plate and wiring? Is it as easy as just slipping the new one on?

If by chance you contact wires and lose power to thermostat, many air handlers have an automotive style two blade fuse which will blow protecting circuits. Typically an easy fix

The wiring block, that the thermostat plugs onto, is the same.

The T10 has different bezels, so you might find that you prefer to take the base off and install a bezel. But that’s optional.

No need to de energize the low voltage from the thermostat but be careful not to short any of the small wires together or you’ll be tracking down your power supply and replacing the fuse.
