I wouldn’t even say the roster is bad. It’s just the fit of RJ and Randle and how good they can be.

They have wing defense and shooting with Grimes, Hart, Divincenzo

Guard defense and scoring with Quickley and again DiVincenzo

Mitch is a great rim protector. Hartenstein is a decent rim protector and good playmaker

I think if RJ was even close to being “that guy” they’d be a contender. But he’s not that guy on either end of the floor

everytime the Knicks miss out on a player everyone expects them to get, they leak out they didn’t want him anyway

said the same thing with KD. they didn’t view him as a Max contract player, and they only leaked that out once he didn’t accept their max contract offer

Phrase it this way. You want a new car but you already have a crappy Chevy. In order for you to upgrade your car you have to pay the equivalent of a brand new Benz for a Dodge Charger. Are you going to buy that new Dodge charger or would you rather sit on your Chevy and wait to see if you can pay Mercedes prices for a Mercedes?

They didn’t want to pay him to miss a season with Achilles surgery, a fair request. KD is amazing but what would he have done with RJ Barrett and Randle?

They did want him just not for that package, and it was very smart of them to not. He doesn’t raise their ceiling with the way their roster is constructed and I’m glad they passed. They were better than the Cavs last year also

Knicks want to drive his value down so that when they sign him, the money they saved looks better.

    Galaxy brain.

Mitchell just dropped 43 on the Thunder without a starting PG.

This isn’t the first time he has had games like this without our starting PG. He can step up to the plate and deliver, but with JB’s coaching scheme. We aren’t exactly getting the best of the best out of him.

If we have a better rotation and coaching scheme, I say that you could probably see a lot more out of Mitchell.

Clickbaity title which is causing clickbaity debate.

There are maybe 5 guys in the league right now that you would trade anything for.

Just because you aren’t one of those 5 guys doesn’t mean you can’t be a phenomenal player which Mitchell is.

The Knicks wanted Mitchell, but the price was just too high for us and had too much risk and potential future downside. If Knicks made the trade and saw that their ceiling was first or second round of the playoffs they would’ve been left with no trade pieces or draft picks and no clear path to improve. Which is exactly the situation the Melo trade left us in which set us back for years.

Trade absolutely made sense for the Cavs, and made sense for the Knicks to not do it.

The Knicks are right. Mitchell is overrated. Jalen Brunson is better than him. I’ll die on this hill.
