trust me when I say this. downgrade the operating system to the original iOS 4.3 version and you’ll hear the difference in sound quality. paired with low ohm, high efficiency headphones like koss or grados, It’s unreal how good it sounds.
This! I downgraded my iPhone 4 from 7.1.2 to 4.3 and the sound changed for some reason
what does the os have to do with anything?
It does for some reason (I downgraded my 4 from 7.1.2 to 4.3) and noticed a better and louder sound from the DAC
changes the sound dramatically.
but how does it change the sound? i bet its just a placebo like a lot of things in this hobby
There’s a real difference, also try to make sure that you get a unit produced before the late 2010 board revision - coupled with the OS roll back it just poses a greater contrast for how far Apple devices’ analogue audio output quality has declined.
the audio drivers and background processors affect the sound. something you just gotta try yourself to find out.
What Amp do you have hooked up to the phone and why not just use the phone’s 3.5mm jack for listening?
Snorlax!
HYPLOUD!!!
You just don’t deserve it
Just use the iPhone 3.5 jack
Looks like a card payment machine lmao. Just use the headphone jack💁🏻♂️
Where did you get the line out cable?
Shopee in my country (Vietnam) sell these line out cable
Reminds me my old combination of ipod 5.5 with rockbox firmware and ibasso d-zero dac+amp. There were good times.
