Hey, I’m a newbie from Europe looking to dive into the world of the NBA. Can you recommend some NBA teams to follow/support with passionate fanbases and a good track record? (With rationale)

You don’t need to pick a team. Start watching the NBA and the team will pick you.

What I mean is you will eventually, naturally, start to like certain teams and certain players

If you’re from Europe I think it would be fun to follow the best European players. Who are also just the best NBA players right now also lol.

Milwaukee Bucks - Giannis Antetokounmpo from Greece is an MVP, a great guy. They won the championship a few years ago. They just made a trade to get another superstar Damian Lillard. Giannis is a big physical inside player while Lillard is an amazing outside shooter. It would be a lot of fun to watch how they play together this year.

Denver Nuggets - Nikola Jokic from Serbia is the best player right now, who just won the championship and Finals MVP last year. He’s a big Center who is extremely skilled at shooting and passing. They have a great team around him, and it’s a lot of fun to watch someone so big also be so skilled. They are looking to repeat as champions.

Dallas Mavericks - Luka Doncic from Slovenia is a young guard who has an array of offensive moves, can assist and rebound well, and is very clutch. Just last night he scored 4 three pointers in the row at the end of a close game including some wild shots. Dallas also had Dirk Nowitzki from Germany for 20 years as their franchise player, and Luka is continuing the tradition of having a European superstar.

San Antonio Spurs - Victor Wembanyana from France is a rookie and the most exciting young player in a very long time. He is 7’4” tall, already a great defender, and can pass and shoot as well. He’s already made some highlight worthy plays in the first few games. San Antonio also has a history of great International players and many championships.

Do you hate yourself? Follow the Sixers. We are always good, but not good enough. We have the reigning MVP Joel Embiid who is a giant and Tyrese Maxey who is one of the easiest players to root for ever. Unfortunately we also have James Harden.
