Obviously he was very loyal to the team during him career but that seems more like a character trail of the man rather to than a love for the city, like, say, Magic has for L.A… Magic retired and has worked with the Lakers ever since, while Larry invested heavily in his home state Pacers after his retirement. So, did Larry like/enjoy/identify with the city of Boston? Is he known to visit today?
Feels like nobody knows anything about Larry bird. As lowkey of a superstar as they’ve come
No one enjoys living in Boston.
He wanted to stay in Boston and in the front office. When Pitino came aboard and took control over the organization, he didn’t like it. He didn’t like how they pushed aside Red.
Bird is about loyalty. Once he saw that, he was out
Larry actually joined a group that tried to buy the Celtics… He wanted to run the team. This idea that he somehow didn’t like living there only has carry among fans that don’t know the facts or have an anti-Boston agenda.
