I started watching WristwatchRevival on YouTube and kinda caught the bug it seems. I’ve been doing lots of research on a good “first watch” and came across this one. It’s a Seiko SRPG41 - 5 series.
I was attending a wedding and thought no better time than now to pull the trigger on one! I’m really enjoying it so far.
Any tips for a newbie regarding upkeep or anything like that? Appreciate you all.
My first watch was a similar looking srpg27 which I spent hours researching. I thought the sunburst blue dial looked cleaner and was more versatile but now I’m regretting not going for the sandblasted one… Anyways, great watch with lots of versatility! As for upkeep, be careful with the bezel and crown as that’s what scratches the most for me. Also follow general automatic watch rules like not setting the date at 9pm - 3am and avoid magnetic fields.
I’ve started as well with a Seiko, Sports 5 SRPG35K1, loving the watch everyday. It has become my go to piece and I’m really happy with the decision.
