15/7/1 is good but not generational for a rookie. Unless he takes that up to 20+ and 10 you can’t talk about him like this.

He’s not a better rookie than Doncic or Embiid, let alone Lebron James

Wembanyama looks my create a player in NBA Live ‘98. I made a 7’10” C who was lanky. He looks like he moves in slow motion. It’s due to his length but appears funny to me. LBJ had more hype considering less social media and online presence like YT.

He aint even better than rookie KAT yet. Remember KAT after his rookie season had GM’s wanting him over guys like LBJ, KD and Curry who all had plenty left in the tank.

This sub has created an imaginary rookie LeBron that never existed over the years. He had a good rookie year and there were games where you 100% saw what he could be. A ton of people did not think he should be ROTY over Melo and felt it was basically a “congrats for not crumbling under the pressure” award.

There have been a ton of better rookie seasons since, and it’s entirely possible Wemby joins the list.

plenty of better rookies than lebron but they’re usually upperclassmen or at least were back then. Straight from high school draft picks used to marinate for a while before getting real minutes. Jermaine O’Neal was glued to the bench for like 6 years

Agreed, Bron was crazy given the circumstances. I just mean that Wemby doesn’t need to have some legendary rookie season to hold up in this comparison. If he keeps playing good defense and scores at a decent clip, he’s a more impactful player than LeBron walked on as.

It’s the leaps LeBron took after that that set him apart.

    Defensively yes

    Offensively no

As a Spurs fan i’m so far very happy with Wemby. And i think he’ll keep getting better on the offensive side of the game.

Maybe. LeBron’s rookie season wasn’t anything crazy, it’s his sophomore year where he really went nuts.
