Let’s start with a simple test. Would you click on the following post on Reddit: “How I made $2,6 mio in 4 years with investing as a complete beginner“?
Attracting new customers can be expensive, if you use ads. And not only is it expensive, but you also have a decent high chance, that customers will buy nothing. Especially if you are new and don’t know how to create persuasive ads.
If you are like me, then probably yes. You are curious how this person made $2,6 mio. What strategies did he use to achieve it and how I can improve my own investing to save for my financial freedom, right? And now imagine this story is true, but he says that he got so successful because of a tool, that helped him analyze great stocks, but this costs $30 a month. You probably would research if it is really useful, right?
But what happened is, that this company got leads and social awareness with zero cost in marketing. Posts like that go very viral on Reddit and imagine only 10% of the readers visit your website to look further into it. That could be easily 10,000 people or leads at minimum for free!
So how do we create articles that generate leads like a magnet?
STEP 1: CREATE A GREAT HEADLINE
This step is very important. If you can’t get the reader to be curious, then he won’t click on your post. Let’s look what made the headline above so good. First, it solved a problem. Can you get the problem?
Very simple, the problem is, “How can I make money as a beginner with investing“. You have to first understand who your audience is, here it’s a investing beginner. You can’t write an article about “How to make a heart surgery” and talk to tech people. Maybe some are interested, but the majority isn’t.
Now, the second very essential piece of the puzzle is, the solution. This beginner has a need, to make money in the stock market, and he would love to make it fast. So give him a possible solution to make a lot of money fast. Create a sense of urgency. If he doesn’t click know, he will lose a very big secret to his dreams. In this example, the solution is “make $2,6 mio in 4 years as a beginner”. But the headline is nothing without the value of the article.
STEP 2: GIVE VALUE
So now it’s important that you give real value to your audience. If you got their full curiosity, then you have to deliver.
Our example is really extreme, because $2,6 mio as a beginner in the stock market is a lot of luck. But you could tell your audience how to improve their lives with this simple online app. It don’t have to be a new miracle, just information that will benefit your reader.
Don’t praise your product or service, but talk about the problem your customer has and how you want to improve that. For example, someone wants to buy a new car, then help him find criteria to decide what should a good car have and what should be avoided when buying a new car.
Now that you have create valuable information for your readers, it’s time to move them to your website/ service or product. This can be done very easily, by solving the problem you are talking about, with your own product.
For the car example, you could make an easy list of cars that prove to be good buys or cars that tend to break fast. Now take some cars of this list and incorporate them into the article. Create a step-by-step guide, where the user goes to your website and can look this list up and narrow cars down. Very simple.
STEP 3: NEXT STEP OR YOUR WEBSITE
The final step is to direct the reader to your website for more valuable information. If he started to trust you and read until the end, he will probably read more. Give him more valuable information like „What are the best stockbrokers in 2023“ or „This will improve your cars’ longevity”.
Your goal is to give him more value, so that you become his first choice for a certain topic. And one day he will choose you above others, because he knows that you have authority and your service has real value.
YOU ARE PROBABLY THINKING THAT WRITING ARTICLES TAKES A LOT OF WORK RIGHT?
Sure, if you want to write for a big magazine, but most people don’t care about that. Just look into a forum like Reddit and see how many people ask for casual advice. Or just remember the last time you wanted to buy something, and asked a friend for advice. Be this friend to your customers and give them real value. Your mission is very simple, and it’s not to become the next Wall Street Journal.
SUMMARY
You don’t have to pay expensive ads to generate to leads to your website, especially if you are new business. Try to focus on solving problems that your customers have and they will will come for free to your website.
This is done with 3 simple steps. First create a headline that attracts a customer. The easiest way is to include the problem, that a customer currently has, and the solution into the headline.
Second give real valuable information in the body part and include your product or service as a solution to solve the main issue. Make it very easy to understand for the reader to follow and try it out himself.
Third now lead this reader to more articles and problems, that he could currently face and solve them. He will be very thankful to you and choose you in the future above others.
