I’m up gosh darn it. I guess you’re not supposed to swear apparently? I am awake. I hate that I am. At 27 I was so excited about NBA trades i was stoked they were happening late at night. Now i’m cheesed off about my sleep schedule. I made another post complaining all about that but I want the young people to truly understand the horrors of aging.
Now I am thinking about basketball. Anyway, the 76ers are in the market for another star with the assets from this trade. Now, I know what you’re thinking “They got marcus morris, no more star power needed” and you’d be right. Anyway, the one I saw in the comments on here was Zach Lavine. and I do see it, I think he succeeds with not that much offensive pressure on him with Maxey and Embiid. I like Lavine but I don’t think that’s a good enough team defensively.
I think the real smart move is to add someone without having to completely empty your war chest. Enter Jerami Grant, who I am maybe higher on than most but he’s a good player who, and I think this is important, Showed how good of a defender he could be in the playoffs with Denver all those years ago and I still believe in him. Maybe he plays well for a while and inflates his market value but I doubt it. OG Anunoby fits neatly right here. I think though that the Raptors would rather deal him to the other conference.
Now. What about KAT? I think this is a doubt, I don’t think that the sixers have enough to get the T wolves to give in so quickly on their all in window they stupidly committed to. I like the idea of playing him with Embiid but I doubt it’d work.
Now, I’ve been impressed with the Pels so far, but maybe Brandon Ingram becomes available if things aren’t working towards the deadline. I have planted my flag in the sixers need a longboi camp.
Anyway thats all I got. I hope this leads to good discussion with the other weirdos who are checking their phone in bed now and can’t sleep.
Actually my biggest concern would be his fit with Tyrese Maxey. Two quick guards that can lit up in good nights but both should be paired up with a playmaker. Together I think both would be stepping in each other toes in offense.
