The NBA tagged this as a “correct non-call”

Comment: Jones (SAS) jumps as Durant (PHX) turns and steps, resulting in incidental body contact. Jones then reaches for the ball when Durant brings it above his head, resulting in marginal contact, and Johnson (SAS) cleanly strips the ball.

Comment:Okogie (PHX) maintains verticality and absorbs the contact that occurs during Johnson’s (SAS) driving shot attempt.

Doubling down after KD’s bloody face was a stupid move.

It proves the L2M report doesn’t have any legitimacy, not that you didn’t miss the call

Honestly as a Suns fan I’m OK with this being missed and I’m OK with the L. Even when I saw the replay and the blood I was like “honest mistake and we let it get that close anyway.” That’s the game. The first time I felt annoyed about this In anyway was this l2m, own your mistakes and don’t doubledown. Any contact to the face is not marginal, especially contact that draws blood. Humans auto react when someone hits their face and for good reason, never should we set precedent that players are awarded for ‘marginal’ contact to the face.

Reminds me how Booker bearhugged Kuminga during the Warriors Suns game, Kuminga got called for a foul for forcefully breaking out of the bear hug (because what else was he supposed to do?!)… Steve Kerr called for a review of the play and after watching slow-motion replays over and over again of Booker literally bear hugging Kuminga the referees told us that Booker’s contact was “immaterial” but Kumingas contact was not so the call was not overturned.

So literally bear hugging someone is “immaterial” contact… but getting yourself out of a bearhug is a foul?
