Mitchell Robinson stood on business.

After downplaying the Wembanyama matchup by stating that he’s not worried it’s an archetype of player that he has faced before (Porzingis, Bol Bol), Mitchell Robinson stuck to his word and held Victor to 0-6 shooting as his primary defender. The most anyone has shot on Mitch this season without making a FG.

Mitchell Robinson has been the Knicks best player this season and is the major reason the Knicks have had a top 2 defense to start the year.

If he keeps it up so you think Mitchell Robinson could get DPOY consideration?

I’m so used to him hacking from previous years that I still feel like teams should try to draw fouls on him to get him out of there. But he’s not nearly as prone to them s he used to be

He’s honestly one of the least foul prone centers for his play style at this point. Almost never bites on pump fakes.

Playing almost 30 MPG and averaging a career low 2.3 FPG. He’s become the complete force on defense he always had the potential to become.

Mitchell used his bigger, stronger body to great effect on D. Wemby isn’t at the stage yet where he simply shoots over everyone.

Wemby’s release point is much lower and easier to block than Jokic. Jokic’s shot is pretty much unblockable (except maybe by Wemby?)

Robinson has been a menace on defence the whole year dude is having a great year. He really should be getting some way to early noise about all defensive team or DPOY with how bad the Grizzlies and Bucks defences look.

Mitch is gangly and has a strong base. He’s anchoring arguably the best defense in the NBA right now.

    #2 Defensive Rating

#1 in Opponent 2nd Chance Points, a full 2 points better than the 2nd best team in this category.

#3 in Opponent Points off TOV

    #1 in Defensive Rebounding %

#4 in Opponent Points in the Paint, essentially tied with Minnesota for 3rd.

#2 in Offensive Rebounding. Mitchell Robinson alone as a player is #1 in Offensive Rebounding with 6.3 a game. He’s a full 2 offensive rebounds a game above the #2 player.

Still early in the season and a lot of the individual stats point to Gobert having a great season, but Mitch has been underrated.

Well obviously Wemby came alive in the second a bit more but yeah. That happens when you don’t have a PG or wings that can pass. Spurs about to win the lottery again it sucks but hey, year 2 rebuild

I noticed wemby took a few shots that he normally makes around the rim due to his height advantage but he couldn’t do it against mitch at all. On the other hand he had a few open looks from 3 that just didn’t go down. Hartenstein played great defense too. Knicks were very physical with him
