I’m not even sure you could call it a “style” nor do I know if this is the correct place to post this but what is the style called where you photograph a specific object as it’s effected by another object?
Examples:

What you describe is more of a theme than a style or genre.
maybe an absent self portrait? where you know it’s the photographer but their physical form is completely out of the picture
