I like the idea of the in-season tournament, I really do but right now it’s lacking a purpose, and one idea that doesn’t involve rule changes or giving substantial rewards is this, having NBA games in areas that don’t normally host an NBA game. Of course, the quality of the arena has to be on par and other factors but the biggest benefit of this are NBA fans in that area getting a rare chance to have a game in their place for once, the atmosphere would be electric and it would create an identity for the in-season tournament that would make it more than just a regular season game with a label attach to it.

Imagine an NBA game held in Puerto Rico or in London and imagine the crowds at those places, at the end of the day it might be just a regular season game but the fans and players would think otherwise and create an unforgettable basketball experience.

The NBA was smart about making the in season tournament games count in the standings, otherwise nobody would play in it.

Yes this is literally the only way this thing would ever even get agreed to by anybody.
