Unlike some, I am pretty excited about the In-season Tournament, so out of boredom I decided to deep dive into the Schedule and found some interesting things(or at least what I found interesting):
#. West Group B is the strongest group, West Group A is the weakest
West Group B(Mavs, Nuggets, Pelicans, Rockets, Clippers) is the strongest group based on average win percentage thus far into the season. Here are the standings and percentages:
Group | Average Win % |
---|---|
West Group B | 64.1% |
West Group C | 56.4% |
East Group A | 53.7% |
East Group C | 50.0% |
East Group B | 44.7% |
West Group A | 31.7% |
#. The Orlando Magic have the tightest Tournament Schedule
The Orlando Magic will be completing all 4 of their tournament games in only 10 Days. Followed by the Sixers, Raptors, Jazz and Lakers with 11 Days. The longest schedules of 25 Days belong to Cavs, Knicks, Bucks, Nets, Bulls, Miami, Mavs, Warriors and Thunder. Leading to the next point…
#. East Group C has the largest disparity in Tournament Schedule.
In East Group C, has the Magic and Raptors finishing their 4 games in 10 and 11 days, respectively. Nets and Bulls in 25 days, and Celtics right in the middle with 18 days. That’s 15 days between the first team in Group C to finish all their tournament games and the last team. That number is 14 for East Group A and 7 for East Group B. The difference in all the West Groups is only 10,11,11 days.
#. The Wizards are the only team that has exactly 7 days in between each of their tournament games.
Just thought that was interesting.
#. The Toronto Raptors have the latest start in the tournament.
The Raptors first tournament game is on 11/17. On that date, a third of teams will be playing their 3rd tournament game.
Thank you for reading my list of useless facts.
That’s pretty light for something labeled a “deep dive” lol
