Hi, have been looking at both the Longines Hydroconquest GMT and the Oris Aquis Calibre 400, and am not sure which to go for. I have managed to be quoted at a similar price for each. Any thoughts and advice are much appreciated.
Personally, Oris 💯
You can switch between straps and bracelet easily on the hydro. I don’t think oris can do the same.
Best thing is to try them both on if you can. Then:
- Do you need a GMT? then Longines obv
- Do you want to be able to change straps easily? then Longines obv
- Do you plan on this being your only watch for a while? then I’d go Longines because it’s a bit more versatile
But if the look of the Oris appeals, then I’d go that way. The look of the Aquis is more interesting and unique imo, and that’s what I’d get, but I also have other watches and dont need one do-it-all piece.
I like Oris a lot more from an aesthetic design perspective, but the Longines GMT movement is awesome at the pricepoint. If you’re more about form over function, I’d go with the Longines; if not, the Oris.
