Thank God the press has broken this amazing story that a trade was the result of negotiation.

That’s just the title of the article, not the full report. It’s just an article providing more context around the trade, which is a very normal report. It’s not supposed to be breaking news.

Here my dumb ass is after reading the headline trying to figure out why a story about Steve Young to the 49ers was a price drop.

Sir can I buy this Young? For my D-line please. You see they’ve been shit for quite awhile and I know this Young would make them smile if they face the Eagles, in playoffs

AKA owners know that they profit too when the 49ers bring in a lot of viewer numbers. Same story in the NBA, all talent funnels to California because owners know that’s who people watch

Also isn’t that just how trades work? You ALWAYS start way higher than whatever you’re actually willing to settle for.

    “We want a 2nd and a 5th”

“No, we will give you a 3rd”

    “Okay deal”

At this point teams should be calling Washington pre-draft to tell them which players they like so it’s easier to trade for them in a few years.

This just says to me that Washington was eager to get rid of him and just wanted to make sure they got something for him, even if it was a comp pick. That says a lot about what they think about Young. But I have a feeling that he’ll shine on the 49ers. Pairing him with Bosa will make that team a defensive powerhouse.

By getting a 3rd round pick for someone who is trending bust and contract is up after year?

Niners used a third round comp pick they got for developing a minority executive (Ran Carthon) who got hired by another team. Which means they got him for free. And they might get a 3rd if he leaves in FA.

    Never deal with John Lynch.
