Tyus Jones has continued his very underwhelming start to and his season averages now sit at 9.3pts / 2.6reb / 4.8ast.
Tyus was one of the preseason dark horses for Most Improved Player due to his ability to step up in Ja Morant’s absence last season where he produced averages of 16/4/8 on 50/41/77 splits in his 22 games as a starter. In this stretch, he got six 20/10 double-doubles and ten double-doubles overall.
As of right now, despite starting all 9 games, he has not managed to reach 8 assists even once this season, and his scoring has topped out at 16 points, which he has reached twice.
Wizard’s fans - are you concerned about your new point guard yet? Or do you still think he can reach a new level with an increased role?
I don’t think many people had him as a MIP pick playing on a wiz team with Kuzma and Poole.
Give us back
We’ll trade you our starting PG Jacob Gilyard
look how they massacred my boy
Someone who watches the Wizards, is this because of Poole and Kuz ball hogging?
I always thought he’d be a perfect off the bench PG since he is basically CP3 light (pass first, low turnovers, good efficiency, decent defense).
Though he stunk in every playoffs so maybe he just ain’t him.
I think a ton of contenders will be lining up to get him next season on a cheap deal / MLE if possible though.
He’d be a good fit on the Raptors
Return
Anyway… Who wants to give us a 1st for him?
Wizards are in full rebuild so they’re probably just hoping they can get some second rounders or pick swaps for him eventually.
Marcus Morris + 2 Seconds for Tyus and our Patron Saint of Maxey, Mike Muscala.
Tyus for LaRavia straight up who says no?
Kinda like Monte Morris last year : we sometimes overvalue this good/solid back up point guards who know how to run a second unit, but whose athletic limitations get exposed when they have to play vs starters
Kept saying Clippers should have traded for Tyus and upgrade centre position.
