The Grizzlies started the season 2-8 and will be missing Ja for 15 more games. If they don’t pick their act up (missing 3 starters), they might drop out of the playoff race and have to fight hard for playin positioning, if that.

Even with Biyombo and Gilyard now starting, it’s gonna be hard to get wins til Ja gets back. I’m thinking we go 5-10 these next 15. Grizz just wanna shoot 3s (5th overall) and not attack the paint

There is a bit of luck involved in basketball and we’ve lost quite a few games that could have gone the other way

Odds could swing the other way and we go on a little streak if we start getting hot and get some favorable calls etc

Agreed but we need somebody to step up on offense. Our defense is still good even with all the wide open 3s

I would say our overall defense is kinda mid, our interior defense is actually good.

Actually Ja being back may be good for defense for once, I love Gil, but Jordan Clarkson was just shooting over him. And if we can cut down on the Smart Bane turnovers, we can actually set up defense properly.

Don’t know how to improve 3 point defense though, that is probably a feature, not a big at this point

Never gonna be fixed as long as we are a paint protective defense. Our guys can’t pull off double coverage fast enough. Especially teams with good perimeter passing

Steven Adams is arguably their biggest miss! I know that sounds mental because talent wise Ja is on another level, but Adams glues everything together for them! Memphis have proved repeatedly that they can keep their heads above water without Ja.
